Parish Feast (Odpust) is traditionally the most important celebration at every Slovak church. The solemn banquet is an expression of gratitude and joy. The honor of the Patron Saints of the parish is also a gratitude for forgiveness from God, because God loves his children, forgives them their sins, and gives a profound meaning to our lives. The Feast is also a social event where friends and acquaintances meet at a common table.
Sts. Cyril and Method Church in Mississauga celebrated its Parish Feast in February and, as always, the parish hall was full and the food and the program were excellent. The accompanying photographs provide the proof.
