Slovak seniors in Welland enjoy life

Welland_200Aging is an essential part of life. Many of us are no longer as strong or fast as in our youth, and our interests are also maturing. Having plenty of wisdom has its advantages. All that does not mean that we have to slow down or enjoy life less.

In many Slovak communities seniors are getting together and forming clubs or associations so that they can do things together, meet and have fun. One such club is in Welland. The Welland Slovak Senior Citizens Club meets every first Tuesday of the month at St. Anthony of Padova Croatina Church and Hall on River Road in Welland. Serious card playing takes place then bingo, followed by a brief meeting. Pizza and donuts round out the afternoon. All that keeps everybody young at heart and keep enjoying life to the fullest, within the community of friends and good and cheerful people.
