On New Year's day Slovakia celebrates the 25th anniversary of its independence and the Slovaks in Calgary again raised the Slovak flag in front of the City Hall, for 25th year in a row.

December is already here. For children it means that St. Nicholas is finally ready to travel and bring joy and gifts to all deservig children.

The biggest event this year will be the Slovak Day on October 1st, 2017. It is a project under the auspices of Ottawa as part of the Ottawa Welcomes the World event and is part of the 150th anniversary celebration of Canada.

Heavy snowfall did not prevent a group of patriots to come to the City hall in Calgary and raise the Slovak flag  for the 24th time.
