After more than four years of publication, www.kanadskyslovak.ca needed a major software and systems upgrade, which gave us an opportunity to make several major changes.
We hope that you will enjoy the new format and will oftern return to our website to learn what is new in Slovak Canada.
The new format is friendlier for display on tablets and smartphones, we've added direct links to Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pintererest to allow better communication and forwarding articles to your friends. You can also subscribe to The Canadian Slovak newspaper or gain electronic access to its most recent issues through PayPal where you can pay by a credit card.
Of course, the entire content of this website remains bilingual, just click on the Slovak or English flag in the upper right corner and read everything in your preferred language.
If you click on the "Slovak communities", you will see a list of major Slovak communities in Canada, with several subcategories.
If something is not working as it should, please let us know by clicking on the "Contact" field.
Our website wants to focus on human and social dimensions of Slovak life in Canada, thus we publish lots of photos from each event. We can only publish what we have. Therefore, please e-mail us info about events in your community and we will publish and promote them early in the "Calendar" section, and after the event send us an article and especially many photos, which not only your family and friends can see and share, but also Slovaks around the world.
Please engage in the events in your community. It and its organizations can only be as attractive and active as are their members. And thank you for your support of The Canadian Slovak, because it is the glue that bonds us all.
We also thank the Office for Slovaks living abroad for their financial grant to pay at least part of the costs for this upgrade, and of course the Canadian Slovak League, which financed the rest. Now can we, the volunteers, devote our time and effort to share with you all that great drive and spirit that what we have as a community here in Canada.
