Mr. Milan Kollár has arrived in Ottawa as the new Ambasador of the Slovak Republic in Canada.
He was born on Christmas day, 1965 in Zvolen. He studied at the Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in Bratislava and at the State Institute for International Relations in Moscow. He joined the diplomatic corps in 1991 after becoming the Doctor of Law. He worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic where he was the head of the Bureau for International Law, Consular section. He was also an adviser, deputy of the Head office, and chargé d´affairs at the Embassy in the Hague. Mr. Kollár speaks English, Russian, German, French and Norvegian. He is married and has two daughters.
